*Oklahoma starts fast, rolls over Utah State*

NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Third-ranked Oklahoma scored on its first three possessions and never looked back, rolling to a 54-3 victory against overmatched Utah State on Saturday.

The Sooners (3-0) opened the scoring with a 35-yard touchdown run by wide receiver Juaquin Iglesias just over three minutes in.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Sam Bradford threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Malcolm Kelly and later hooked up with tight end Joe Jon Finley for a nine-yard scoring pass to make it 21-0.

"It was a good solid day," Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said. "Offensively we ran it well, took care of the football and mainly had no fumbles. That is a big thing, something I didn't want to see this week. We also played well defensively."

The Aggies (0-3), who were outgained, 617-153, scored their only points on a 30-yard field goal by Peter Caldwell in the second quarter to pull within 21-3.

But the Sooners answered with 17 points to close out the first half with a commanding 38-3 lead.

Allen Patrick rushed for 69-yard touchdown, and Bradford connected with Kelly again for a 17-yard TD pass.

Bradford finished 19-of-26 for 256 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.

"He puts the ball in great spots," Stoops said. "He throws a catchable ball and doesn't try to beat anyone up with it.

"He has a great touch and I am pleased with him and I think he has done a great job seeing the field and hitting his second and third options."

Oklahoma padded its lead in the second half on a 92-yard touchdown run by DeMarco Murray and a 45-yard interception return for a score by linebacker Curtis Lofton.

Patrick carried nine times for 119 yards and Murray rushed four times for 100 yards for the Sooners, who finished with 343 yards on the ground.

"DeMarco is one of those guys that when he hits the seam he is hard to catch," Stoops said. "He has got a great knack and he is just going to get better and better."

Utah State's Leon Jackson III completed 9-of-14 passes for 66 yards and an interception while Curtis Marsh had 31 yards on 11 carries.
