Wyoming Cowboys at North Carolina Tar Heels

CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- North Carolina continues its first appearance in the National Invitation Tournament since 1974 on Monday when it hosts Wyoming at the Smith Center.

North Carolina (18-15) rallied from a 35-29 halftime deficit in posting an 83-72 victory over DePaul in the first round. David Noel scored 21 points and fellow freshman Rashad McCants added 19 to lead the Tar Heels.

The Tar Heels placed four players in double figures as Jawad Williams scored 16 points and freshman point guard Raymond Felton added 10 and nine assists. North Carolina shot 64 percent in the second half.

North Carolina is 12-4 at home this year.

Wyoming advanced with a 78-71 victory over Eastern Washington last Thursday. Donta Richardson scored 24 points and Uche Nsonwu-Amadi finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The Cowboys are trying to win two games in the NIT for the first time since 1986.

The winner will meet Providence or Georgetown in the quarterfinals later in the week.
