SPOKANE, Washington (Ticker) -- Fourth-seeded Dayton must find some success away from home Thursday when it meets No. 13 Tulsa in a first-round NCAA Tournament matchup in the Midwest Region.

Dayton (24-5) did most of its damage at home, where it went 17-1. The Flyers captured their first Atlantic 10 Conference title Saturday - on their home floor - with a 79-72 victory over Temple.

Sean Finn collected 20 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Ramod Marshall added 16 points and 10 assists. Reserve D.J. Stelly netted 15 points for Dayton, which has won 17 of its last 20 games.

Now the Flyers must try to win on its longest road trip of the season. Dayton went 7-4 away from home but did not beat a single team in the field on the road.

Brooks Hall leads a balanced attack for the Flyers with 13.0 points per game and Keith Waleskowski adds 12.9. Marshall is the third Dayton player in double figures at 9.9 points per contest.

Dayton is seeking its first NCAA Tournament victory since a first-round triumph over Illinois in 1990.

Tulsa (22-9) won its last seven games to capture the Western Athletic Conference title, defeating Nevada in the title game, 75-64. Dante Swanson scored 23 points and Kevin Johnson added 18 for the Golden Hurricane, who are making their eighth NCAA appearance in the last 10 years.

Swanson has been on a major tear, averaging 17.7 points in the last six games. He has helped pick up the slack for Tulsa since starter Antonio Reed was kicked off the team in early February. The Golden Hurricane went 11-2 the rest of the way.

Tulsa has won its last four first-round games and six of the past seven. Last season, as a 12th seed, the Golden Hurricane knocked off Marquette and nearly upset Kentucky.

The only previous meeting between the schools came in the 1985-86 season, when Tulsa posted a 63-60 overtime victory.

The winner will face Wisconsin or Weber State in the second round.
